Health: Diva Cup

The Diva Cup is a environmentally friendly, body friendly, wallet friendly, traveling friendly menstrual solution (shut up, it gets better). It is most certainly one of the best investments I have made this year and I whole-heartedly endorse it.

Pros:
- Made of silicon: Can be used again and again, and can even be sterilized if put in boiling water
- Super comfortable: Used properly, this makes having periods easier and less annoying.
- Shortens periods: Personally, my time has been cut short by about two and a half days. There must be some science behind it, but all I tell myself is that it is the magic of the Cup.
- Can be used at anytime and it won’t hurt your body: This means that no matter how heavy or light you are, it’s not going to give you TSS. You can sleep with it and keep it in for up to 12 hours!
- Economical: One will last for years and cost you about $35~$40. Imagine all the months of not buying “feminine products”! You will feel the grip of the Man loosening.
- Environmentally Friendly: Think of all the paper you won’t waste! This bit alone makes me a happy camper
- Traveling/Spontaneity: You don’t have to worry about having enough pads/tampons on you, and won’t have to worry about bringing your bag with you all the time
- Healthy: You are not putting anything toxic near your body, such as the bleached cotton used in paper products.
- Educational: Helps you understand how your body functions better

Cons:
- Hard to find in stores
- Takes some getting used to: If not used properly, there will be leaks. Also not for those who aren’t in tune with their body.
- Public restrooms: If you live in a dorm or use a public restroom most of the time, it’s kind of a hassle because you can’t obviously wash it out every time. Instead, you have to clean it with toilet paper and wait until you take a shower to rinse it out. A small price to pay, in my opinion.

I highly recommend this for those who are concerned with their own health and safety, and instead of using bleached paper feminine products, which can cause physical harm. This is a great present to give yourself, while simultaneously sticking it to the Man for expecting you to spend muchos dineros for simply being of the female persuasion.
